Keep Calm

Everyone has heard of the famous “Keep Calm” poster, but do you know the story?
The Keep Calm poster appeared in 1939, in Great Britain, when the British Ministry of Information created a poster with the expression Keep calm and Carry on.
The aim was to encourage British citizens not to lose hope and calm, should the Nazi army invade the country during World War II.
This advertising was not well known at the time. Only in 2000, when the poster was found in a bookshop in northeastern England, did the phrase start to gain fame. The original poster has a crown on top of Keep Calm.
This symbol refers to British royalty, at the time it was King George VI, who ruled between 1936 and 1952, a period in which the Second World War took place.
